JC Master Updates | JC Master lawyers attended an expert advisory meeting at Suzhou Institute of Science and Technology Business, providing one-on-one legal “diagnosis and consultation” services to support university faculty entrepreneurship.

On the afternoon of July 4, JC Master Law Office, at the invitation of Yuanhe Holdings, attended an expert advisory session hosted by Suzhou Science and Technology Business School for participants in its startup program.
 

Suzhou Science and Technology Business School is an innovative educational institution spearheaded by the Suzhou Municipal Government. It is dedicated to cultivating versatile science-and‑technology talent who possess both technical expertise and market acumen, thereby supporting the development of Suzhou’s industrial innovation clusters. The school is under the physical construction and operational management of Yuanhe Holding and was established in 2023 in Suzhou’s Dongshahu Fund Town.

All participants in this session of the Suzhou University of Science and Technology’s Startup Program are professors and faculty members from various departments across Suzhou University who are interested in technology transfer or entrepreneurship. As part of the program, an expert consultation session was held, during which attorneys Zhao Liwei, a partner at JC Master’s Suzhou office, and Jiang Zhaojing, from JC Master’s Nanjing headquarters, provided one‑on‑one “diagnostic” advice to Suzhou University faculty on legal issues they face in the entrepreneurial process. They addressed a range of concerns, including company registration, structuring equity arrangements, protecting intellectual property, clarifying ownership of research outcomes, as well as disputes over non‑compete restrictions and risks associated with employment and labor matters.

University faculty members are embracing the wave of entrepreneurship, bringing with them innovative ideas while confronting a host of legal challenges.
