On the morning of July 4, Attorney Zhu Yifan, President of the European Chinese Lawyers Association and Director of the China Practice Group at the German law office Nöll & Partner, along with Attorney Gao Sen, Head of the China Practice Group at the German law office Hauk & Partner, paid a visit to JC Master Law Office for a symposium and exchange. Ding Youjun, Deputy Director of the Jianye District Bureau of Justice, attended the meeting. The office’s Chief Partner Ma Qun, Committee Director Li Yuanyang, Executive Committee Director Zhu Li, Managing Partner Shi Qiao, and Xu Min, Dean of the Cewen Institute, extended a warm welcome and participated in the discussion. The meeting featured an in-depth exploration of cross-border legal services, international investment, effective support for Chinese and European enterprises, and the promotion of China–EU economic and trade cooperation.

At the symposium, Director Ma Qun welcomed President Zhu and his delegation from the European Chinese Lawyers Association. He highlighted that Jianye District has become a hub for legal services, bringing together numerous distinguished law offices and legal experts who boast extensive experience both domestically and internationally, particularly in cross-border legal practice. As one of the first members of Jianye District’s “Cross-Border Legal Services Task Force,” JC Master is committed to providing comprehensive legal support to enterprises expanding overseas. He expressed hope that JC Master and the European Chinese Lawyers Association will strengthen their cooperation to deliver more professional and efficient legal services to Chinese and European businesses.
Director Zhu Li introduced JC Master’s practice team, its service areas, and the achievements it has attained in recent years in the field of international legal services. Director Li Yuanyang outlined JC Master’s practical experience and successful cases in providing cross-border legal services, with particular emphasis on the legal support it has offered to Chinese enterprises as they expand overseas. Dean Xu Min described the structure and strengths of JC Master’s international legal services team, highlighted the office’s accomplishments in cultivating internationally minded legal professionals, and expressed her hope for strengthened exchanges and cooperation between China and Europe in the realm of legal services.
President Zhu Yifan expressed high appreciation for JC Master’s professional expertise and international outlook, and outlined the founding background and current development of the European Association of Chinese Lawyers. Serving as a bridge for communication between the legal communities of China and Europe, the Association has consistently worked to foster exchanges and cooperation in the legal field. He also noted that Nölle Law Office in Germany enjoys a distinguished reputation in the European legal arena, with extensive experience particularly in international commercial arbitration and cross-border investment. President Zhu expressed his hope that the office will help facilitate the integration of Jianye’s foreign-related legal services, advance exchanges and collaboration between the Chinese and European legal communities, and contribute to the development of Jianye’s international legal offerings.
As the head of the China Practice Group at the German law office Hauk & Partner, Attorney Gao Sen provided a detailed overview of the office’s strategic positioning and service strengths in the Chinese market. Hauk & Partner boasts a robust professional pedigree and an extensive international network in the field of cross-border legal services, with particular expertise and a track record of successful cases in Sino‑German legal matters. Attorney Gao expressed his anticipation for deepening cooperation with JC Master across a broader range of areas, injecting fresh momentum into the development of both offices.
Ding Youjun, Deputy Director of the Jianye District Bureau of Justice, provided an overview of the district’s foreign-related legal services. He noted that, as businesses increasingly globalize, such services have become ever more critical and are experiencing rapid growth. As a key area of Nanjing, Jianye District has made significant strides in this field in recent years. Deputy Director Ding emphasized that the district has proactively established a comprehensive foreign‑related legal service system, giving rise to two flagship platforms—the Nanjing Cross‑Border E‑Commerce Platform and the Yangtze River Delta Enterprise Internationalization Platform—both dedicated to offering enterprises one‑stop, end‑to‑end legal support, ensuring swift access to legal assistance.
During the panel discussion, participants engaged in an in-depth exchange on specific areas of cross-border legal services and current development trends, and put forward preliminary ideas and recommendations for advancing China–EU cooperation in the legal services sector. These efforts aim to further broaden the professional reach of both sides and better support commercial activities and investment cooperation between China and the EU.
