This exhibition showcases the works of Jin Jing, an independent artist, a specially appointed oil painter at the Jiangsu Provincial Academy of Calligraphy and Painting, and a member of the China Democratic League. Teacher Jin expressed her warm welcome to both old and new friends, inviting them to come and view the show. She gently recounted her artistic journey and extended her gratitude to all who attended. A dedicated artist who seeks to infuse Chinese spirit into contemporary art, she possesses an international perspective and has long pursued innovative exploration. Guided by the core principle that “love cannot be simulated or replicated,” her work urges us to live authentically in an artificial world. Throughout her creative process, she has shifted her focus—from intimate inner emotions to broader social concerns, forging connections and reflecting the shared sentiments of the public.

Mr. Wang Ningsheng, former Deputy Director of the Jiangsu Provincial State‑Owned Assets Management Commission and a First‑Class Inspector, currently serves as the Special Honorary President of the Jiangsu Enterprise Federation. He stated that he is himself an art enthusiast with a deep appreciation for Western art. Jin Jing’s artworks seamlessly blend Western Impressionism with contemporary elements, expressed through the language of Eastern art. This approach reflects a distinctly personal artistic sensibility, infused with the artist’s profound love of beauty.
Mr. Li Kun, former Deputy Director of the Jiangsu Provincial State‑Owned Assets Management Commission and a First‑Class Inspector, who currently serves as President of the Jiangsu Enterprise Confederation, expressed his hope that art will increasingly integrate into everyday life, enterprises, and society, so that artists’ works are appreciated by the general public, by businesses, and by the wider community.
Mr. Qiu Zhongwen, former Director of the Jiangsu Provincial State-owned Assets Management Commission and Secretary-General of the Standing Committee of the Jiangsu Provincial People’s Congress, stated that the artworks are a delight to behold and profoundly moving for everyone. At Jin Jing’s exhibition, he personally felt as though “flowers were blooming in the depths of his memory.”
Art critic, curator, and doctoral supervisor at Nanjing University of the Arts, Mr. Gu Chengfeng, observes that contemporary society has undergone profound transformations, and both art and artists have evolved accordingly. Whether traditional or contemporary, art must remain closely attuned to the present moment—a task that requires the concerted efforts of artists, society, and the media. From the perspective of the artist and artistic creation, the completion of a work serves to fulfill the artist’s inner aspirations and realize their artistic quest. Painting materials are merely tools; what truly matters is resonating with the audience and eliciting a meaningful aesthetic impact. In Jin Jing’s oeuvre, we can sense the painter’s deep emotional engagement and discern a self‑portrayal vividly rendered within the artwork.
Mr. Zhao Zhiping, President of the Jiangsu Provincial Guofeng Calligraphy and Painting Institute of the China Democratic League and Chairman of the Jiangsu Provincial Flower-and-Bird Painting Research Association, stated that, amid today’s diversified social and cultural landscape, artworks are no longer confined to museum exhibitions; they are increasingly making their way into society, into everyday life, into public spaces, and into places where people share a passion. The exhibition space at Zhengyatang is a prime example of how art is being brought closer to daily living. Artistic creation must align with contemporary audiences’ tastes and be expressed in ways that resonate with modern sensibilities. Jin Jing possesses a keen sensitivity to color and infuses her work with fervent emotion, employing a variety of materials whose distinct textures collide to produce strikingly compelling effects.
Mr. Mou Kemin, President of the Jiangsu Provincial Association for Sino‑Foreign Social and Cultural Exchange, a National First‑Class Artist, and a member of the China Artists Association, remarked that Jin Jing’s paintings are rich in color and possess a powerful visual impact, seamlessly integrating numerous elements of Chinese painting into Western techniques and employing a wide array of mixed media to produce works that resonate with contemporary public aesthetics. Moreover, Jin Jing brings her own distinctive vision to her artistic practice, infusing her work with profound passion and a wealth of expressive nuance.
Internationally renowned painter and New York fashion designer, Ms. Liang Qing, remarked that Jin Jing’s works are boldly vibrant and richly saturated, brimming with vitality, conveying the sense that the artist is truly immersed in her passion as she creates. The exhibition model that seamlessly integrates art with its surroundings is steadily gaining traction across China, and this installment of the Zhengyatang gallery’s show has successfully cultivated an immersive atmosphere that leaves a lasting impression.
Mr. Shen Weicai, Vice Chairman of the Second Branch of the New Social Strata of the China Democratic League and Vice Chairman of the Jianye District Artists Association, remarked that Jin Jing’s works feature precise tonal expression and harmonious, well‑balanced compositions that are truly awe‑inspiring. His pieces demonstrate an international outlook, seamlessly blending Chinese and Western painting techniques, making them worthy of study and emulation.
Mr. Ma Qun, Chief Partner of Taihe Law Firm and Chairman of the Jiangsu Province Belt and Road International Legal Services Alliance, delivered a speech. Chairman Ma began by extending his heartfelt gratitude to the guests in attendance, noting that the law firm’s gallery design embodies the fusion of law and art, and expressing his hope that both the firm’s lawyers and visiting clients will be able to appreciate the beauty of art. At the same time, Zhengyatang provides artists with a platform for showcasing their work and engaging in mutual exchange, while also serving as a bridge to promote the international visibility of outstanding artists and their artistic creations.
Following a grand and well-organized opening ceremony, “Guisi Qixing—Jin Jing·Zhengyatang Spring/Summer 2024 Exhibition” officially kicked off!

Artist Biography
Jin Jing, female, born in 1977, is an independent artist and a member of the China Democratic League. She graduated from the Oil Painting Department of the School of Fine Arts at Nanjing University of the Arts with a master’s degree and is a specially appointed oil painter at the Jiangsu Provincial Academy of Calligraphy and Painting. She has long been dedicated to experimentation and research in oil painting and contemporary and modern art, and currently lives and works in Nanjing.
Jin Jing is an artist who dedicates herself to infusing Chinese spirit into contemporary and modern art, possessing an international outlook and a long‑term commitment to exploration. Rooted in traditional Chinese aesthetics, her practice deftly employs oil painting, ink wash, acrylics, and installation to conjure a world where color and line interweave and illuminate one another. Jin excels in handling challenging large swaths of cyan‑lotus and violet hues, as well as highly saturated ultramarine blue, gemstone green, and stark black and white. Guided by the core idea that “love cannot be simulated or replicated,” she articulates a “real world” in which illusion and reality blur within a postmodern society of simulacra. Through the re‑creation of landscapes and flowers, she invites us to confront the virtual technologies of our contemporary age and return to the subtle, primordial essence of life. Within her pure chromatic relationships lies the artist’s reflective stance on the harmonious coexistence of Eastern spirituality and Western artistic language—enabling a mode of living that is truly “hyperreal.” In recent years, her experimental forays into painting have gravitated toward philosophical critique, cosmic evolution, the trajectories of time, the dialectics of real‑world struggles, and a profound intellectual depth.
His works have received awards including the “Collection Prize at the China Hundred Masters of Jinling Oil Painting Exhibition,” the “Phoenix Art Award,” the “Jiangsu Province Outstanding Works Award,” the “Most Popular Artist Award at the Nanjing International Art Exhibition,” and the “Most Popular Artist Award at the Art Fair.” They are held in the collections of institutions and private collectors such as the Jiangsu Provincial Museum of Modern Art, the Jinling Art Museum, the Shizhuzhai Academy of Painting, international film star Sophie Marceau, and private collectors in the United States, France, Australia, South Korea, Japan, and beyond. Representative series include: “Experimental Art: The Crystal‑Ice Exotic Flora Cultivation Project,” “Invisible Mediums,” “Simulacra of Flowers,” “Simulacra of Memory,” “Another Side of Jiangnan,” “Flowers Have Bloomed in the Depths of Memory,” and “My Purple Melancholy,” among others.
