In my view, an outstanding litigation lawyer should be professional, astute, diligent, and wise. Professionalism demands that he has devoted many years to the field, amassing substantial experience; astuteness requires him to identify the decisive winning angle in every case; diligence calls for thoroughness and meticulousness in preparing evidence and analyzing the facts; and wisdom means that he can discern the essence behind the surface of the entire case, leverage his logical reasoning to influence both the judge and the opposing counsel, and steer the pace of the trial through strategic litigation tactics—ultimately securing the outcome he seeks.
