JC Master Updates | A delegation from the Sino-U.S. Cultural Research Center of Nanjing University–Johns Hopkins University and the Jiangsu Provincial Law Society’s Research Association on Foreign-related Rule of Law paid a visit to JC Master for a symposium and exchange.

On the afternoon of March 11, Professor Sun Wen, Deputy Director of the Sino‑U.S. Cultural Research Center at Nanjing University–Johns Hopkins University, and Professor Hu Xiaohong, President of the Jiangsu Provincial Law Society’s Research Association on Foreign‑Related Rule of Law, paid a visit to JC Master. They were warmly received by Ma Qun, Chief Partner of JC Master; Li Yuanyang, Director of the Management Committee; Zhu Li, Director of the Executive Committee; and Xu Min, Dean of the Cewen Institute, among others. The two sides held a symposium to discuss topics such as the cultivation of talent in the field of foreign‑related rule of law.
At the symposium, Director Zhu Li outlined JC Master’s evolution in international legal practice, its professional development initiatives, its guiding cultural principles, and its key achievements. As chair of the Jiangsu “Belt and Road” International Legal Services Alliance, Director Ma Qun shared the alliance’s accomplishments over recent years. For many years, JC Master has placed great emphasis on collaboration with universities, striving to establish legal practice‑education bases that provide students with hands‑on learning opportunities. The office hopes that, through a university‑institution partnership model, it can jointly cultivate a larger pool of highly qualified, internationally competitive legal professionals specializing in cross‑border matters.
Professor Sun Wen expressed her appreciation for the achievements attained by JC Master and shared Nanjing University’s experiences and accomplishments in academic research and talent development. The Sino‑U.S. Cultural Research Center, jointly established by Nanjing University and Johns Hopkins University, is one of the earliest and longest‑running Sino‑foreign cooperative educational institutions founded after China’s reform and opening-up. Professor Hu Xiaohong outlined the latest developments and distinctive strengths of the Provincial Association for Foreign‑Related Rule of Law Studies. It is hoped that this exchange will facilitate the integration and mutual reinforcement of legal theory and practice, promote the synergistic development of legal scholarship and bar‑practice, and strengthen the cultivation of high‑caliber professionals in the field of foreign‑related rule of law in the new era.
During this symposium, in-depth discussions were held on university talent cultivation and the development of academic disciplines. Taking this opportunity, both sides will continue to strengthen cooperation across professional and scholarly domains, adopting a collaborative model that integrates education with practical experience to nurture a greater pool of high-caliber legal professionals, thereby fostering joint development, resource sharing, and mutually beneficial cooperation between universities and law offices.
