JC Master Salon | The “Marriage, Family, and Wealth Inheritance & Management Salon” Held Successfully Under the Lens of Judicial Interpretation No. 2 on the Marriage and Family Section of the Civil Code

To establish a platform for lawyers to engage in interactive dialogue and jointly explore issues related to matrimonial and family law as well as wealth succession, on the afternoon of January 19, 2025, JC Master Law Office hosted a salon titled “Matrimonial and Family Matters, Wealth Succession, and Management: A Perspective from Judicial Interpretation II of the Marriage and Family Chapter of the Civil Code,” co-organized by Jiangsu Xingao Law Office, Jiangsu Juhao Law Office, Jiangsu Boshida Law Office, and Jiangsu Zhonglü Law Office. At the event, judges, lawyers, scholars, and other experts engaged in an in-depth discussion on the salon’s theme. Attorney Li Xiuhua, Director of the Marriage, Family Matters, and Wealth Succession Practice at JC Master Law Office, chaired this seminar.

First, Attorney Li Yuanyang, Director of the JC Master Management Committee, extended a warm welcome to the guests and participants attending this salon. The event centered on an in-depth discussion of the key issues addressed in Judicial Interpretation No. 2 of the Marriage and Family Chapter of the Civil Code.

At the outset of the event, Attorney Li Xiuhua provided a comprehensive overview of the key provisions of Interpretation No. 2. She noted that this interpretation both builds upon previous rulings on matrimonial and family matters and offers concrete, detailed guidance on pressing contemporary social issues.

Subsequently, the attendees and panelists each shared their expert insights and perspectives on the key issues addressed in Interpretation No. 2. Interpretation No. 2 both builds upon previous laws in the matrimonial and family law domain and offers a more detailed analysis and synthesis of contemporary social concerns; as legal professionals, we must therefore study it thoroughly and engage in in-depth discussion of its core principles. Drawing on their respective case-handling experience, the lawyers actively voiced their views, fostering a lively and spirited exchange at the event.

This discussion not only addressed the specific content and application of judicial interpretations but also delved into the legal challenges and practical strategies involved in wealth succession management. Participants stated that, through this seminar and exchange, they have gained a deeper understanding of the principles governing the adjudication and the procedural rules for resolving marital and family disputes, which will in turn help them render sound judgments when handling such cases.

With this, the seminar concluded amid lively discussions among participants, who all expressed that they had gained substantial insights.
