JC Master Public Welfare | Bringing the Law to the Borderlands — JC Master Lawyers Visit the Ili Kazakh Autonomous Prefecture Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital to Conduct Pro Bono Legal Education Activities

On December 15, at the invitation of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Prefecture Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Attorney Xu Guojin, Director and Party Branch Secretary of JC Master Law Office, led Attorneys Chai Yeqiao, Yang Yunhui, and Zhang Shuangqing to the hospital to conduct a public‑interest legal‑education event. At the outset of the event, Vice President Wei Yunfei noted that JC Master Law Office, a well‑known office in Jiangsu Province, has long been actively engaged in public‑interest legal‑education initiatives. This time, the JC Master Public‑Interest Legal‑Education Team brought legal services directly to the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Prefecture Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine, precisely addressing the professional and everyday legal needs of medical personnel. Such efforts are of great significance in enhancing physicians’ compliance with the law and safeguarding the rights and interests of both doctors and patients.

During this public‑interest legal education event, Attorney Chai Yeqiao delivered a presentation titled “Preventing Legal Risks in Medical Practice: Liability Boundaries and Key Exemption Clauses under the Civil Code,” dissecting the relevant provisions on medical liability in the Civil Code with reference to real‑world cases. Meanwhile, Attorney Yang Yunhui presented “A Practical Guide to the Marriage and Family Section of the Civil Code,” clarifying the most frequently encountered legal issues in matrimonial and family matters through 17 core questions. The insightful presentations by both attorneys were met with repeated rounds of applause from the audience. Following the lectures, Attorneys Xu Guojin and Zhang Shuangqing also provided on‑site answers to questions raised by medical professionals.

In addition, the JC Master Public Welfare Legal Services team took advantage of the weekend to hold a symposium with the Horgos City People’s Hospital (the “Border Gate Hospital”). Both sides presented an overview of their respective organizations and engaged in in-depth discussions on topics such as resolving medical‑patient disputes and mitigating operational risks.
 

The JC Master Public‑Law Legal Aid Team traveled more than 4,000 kilometers to bring legal services to the border regions, demonstrating that JC Master lawyers are earnestly upholding their original aspiration of “lawyers for the people.” Moving forward, JC Master will continue to prioritize and support the development of the rule of law in frontier areas, employing approaches such as online consultations and regular outreach lectures to sustain public‑legal‑education initiatives with border‑area institutions—including the Ili Kazakh Autonomous Prefecture Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital—thereby contributing to the cause of strengthening the rule of law in Xinjiang.
