After many years practicing litigation, I’ve found that my mindset has grown increasingly calm, allowing me to step back and view matters objectively. When I first started out as a lawyer, there were cases where, despite my client’s clear rightness, the court ruled against us or fell short of our expectations—leaving me feeling that the law was unfair and dragging me into days of frustration and sadness. But now, I believe that as long as I approach each client’s mandate with diligence, clearly communicate the worst‑case scenarios at the outset, and devote my utmost effort throughout the proceedings, I can accept whatever outcome comes—whatever it may be—with equanimity. Admittedly, some people say that litigation is a cutthroat world, with its own “underworld” and “legitimate” side; you’re meant to understand the nuances without getting bogged down in details. My guiding principle, however, is simply to stay true to myself and act with a clear conscience.

Exercising due diligence and responsibility in handling clients’ matters is the most fundamental professional ethic for every lawyer. Yet, to truly uphold this standard, I believe it requires not only the accumulation and application of specialized knowledge but also a “three‑more” mindset: listening more, asking more, and acting more. Of course, such efforts are inseparable from the support and resources provided by the law office. Practicing at a comprehensive office like JC Master—where both litigation and non‑litigation work thrive—is what gives me greater scope and the confidence to stay true to my three‑more approach, to handle each case with care, and to remain fully accountable to every client.

Since beginning my practice, I have never ceased to advance on the path of public service. It is gratifying to see that an increasing number of people are becoming aware of their rights and are learning to wield the law as a tool to safeguard their legitimate interests. I am also fortunate to be able to apply my knowledge to assist those in need; I have provided pro bono legal aid to migrant workers, laid-off employees, solitary elderly individuals, women and children facing financial hardship, persons with disabilities, and others.
As a Party-member lawyer and a legal professional, I strive to fully fulfill my role as a promoter of the law, calling on all sectors and individuals in society to exercise their rights and safeguard their legitimate interests through lawful means, thereby upholding social stability. Along this path, though fraught with challenges and occasionally met with misunderstanding and skepticism, whenever I recall that I have such a strong backing as JC Master, my resolve only grows stronger.
