In my dealings with clients, I adhere to the principle of honesty. When addressing inquiries from non-litigation clients, I typically conduct a case‑by‑case analysis, explaining the relevant legal provisions and the potential legal consequences of various courses of action, without concealment or exaggeration. With litigation clients, I assess the evidence they have presented, clarify the applicable laws and regulations, and outline the possible scenarios that may arise during litigation. Ultimately, the decision to proceed with litigation rests entirely with the client; I never promise a favorable outcome in order to secure a retainer, nor do I withhold information about the risk of an adverse judgment.

Becoming a professional lawyer—whether in terms of study, the development of specialized skills, or the cultivation and accumulation of practice—is a journey that can never be undertaken for too long. That’s why I don’t think it’s necessary to dwell excessively on the transition period. Many accomplished lawyers who have been practicing for years continue to approach their work with unwavering diligence. Even after decades in the profession, when others already regard them as seasoned experts, they still refuse to rest, constantly striving to refine and elevate their craft.

“To offer a client a glass of water, you must first have a bucket yourself.” A common tongue‑in‑cheek saying in the legal profession goes: “Choose the right specialty, and you’ll be taking the bar exam every day.” In an era when laws are constantly evolving, only by maintaining an open‑minded, “empty‑cup” attitude—continuously absorbing new knowledge and honing one’s skills—can lawyers better serve their cases and their clients.
