On the afternoon of May 15, the Nanjing Lawyers Association convened a symposium on the development of young lawyers in its conference hall, soliciting broad feedback on the findings of its preliminary research and further advancing the study. Attending the meeting were Wang Qing, member of the Party Leadership Group and Deputy Director of the Nanjing Municipal Justice Bureau, as well as Secretary of the Party Committee of the city’s legal profession; Liu Wei, President of the Nanjing Lawyers Association; Qian Peng, Vice President; the deputy secretary and members of the Youth League Working Committee of the city’s legal profession; the vice chairpersons and members of the Young Lawyers Committee of the Nanjing Lawyers Association; and the presidents, responsible vice presidents, committee directors, and young lawyer representatives of the working bodies in each district.
The meeting was chaired by Qian Peng, Vice President of the Municipal Lawyers Association. During the session, Liu Wei, President of the Municipal Lawyers Association, read out the reply from the Nanjing Municipal Committee of the Communist Youth League approving the adjustment of the personnel for the positions of Secretary, Deputy Secretaries, and Members of the Nanjing Municipal Lawyers Industry Working Committee of the Communist Youth League.
Attorney Gong Yuan of JC Master Law Office attended the event and was elected Deputy Secretary of the Youth League Committee of the Nanjing legal profession.
Qian Peng, Secretary of the Municipal Lawyers’ Industry Youth League Committee, delivered a statement on behalf of the Committee. He stated that the Committee will fortify its ideological foundation with unwavering loyalty, serve the development of young lawyers through concrete action, foster efficient execution through unity, and, with dedication and heartfelt commitment, uphold the service‑oriented essence of the profession’s work for young lawyers.
Wang Qing, a member of the Party Leadership Group and Deputy Director of the Nanjing Municipal Justice Bureau, as well as Secretary of the Party Committee of the city’s legal profession, outlined four key requirements for the development of young lawyers: First, uphold political principles and abide by rules, making political integrity the paramount standard in all aspects of legal practice; second, harbor lofty ideals and demonstrate a strong work ethic, staying grounded while cultivating a macro‑level mindset and a broad, strategic perspective; third, master one’s specialized field and safeguard justice, continuously deepening expertise in emerging industries and new areas; and fourth, be dedicated to service, actively participating in public‑interest initiatives.
