JC Master: A Lawyer’s Story | Sincere Dedication, Looking Ahead — Reflections on My Internship as a Young Attorney

As a child, the film “The Rainmaker” planted in me the dream of becoming a lawyer. Back then, lawyers seemed to me like heroes in the courtroom—embodiments of justice—using their wit and courage to speak up for the vulnerable and defend the truth. Time has flown by, and before I knew it, I’ve been in this field for over a year. That early fascination with the fiery exchanges of the courtroom has since evolved into a deep understanding of—and genuine passion for—non-litigation practice.

In non-litigation practice, while the adversarial dynamics of the courtroom are absent, there is instead a greater sense of composure and strategic foresight behind the scenes. From contract review to due diligence, from structuring to compliance advisory, each task demands thorough research and meticulous analysis. These responsibilities have taught me that law is not merely an art of advocacy; it is also a discipline that calls for painstaking attention to detail and rigorous, evidence‑based rigor. Every instance in which I successfully help clients mitigate risks and secure collaborative agreements fills me with a profound sense of accomplishment.

In my practice of non-litigation work, I have come to appreciate both the depth and breadth of legal services. Each project is like a complex puzzle, requiring me to fill in the gaps with my legal expertise and connect the pieces through logical reasoning. This kind of challenge has driven my continuous growth and strengthened my resolve to pursue a career in law.

Looking ahead, I aspire to deepen my expertise in the non-litigation field, achieve greater success, and deliver even more professional and efficient services to my clients. At the same time, I hope to have the opportunity to engage in a broader range of litigation matters, experiencing the passion and honor of fighting for justice in the courtroom.

I know that becoming an outstanding lawyer requires hard work and relentless dedication. Yet I am confident that, as long as I remain passionate about the law and steadfast in my pursuit of justice, I will surely advance farther and more steadily along this path. The road ahead is long, but I am ready to embrace every challenge and write my own chapter in the world of law.
