From June 6 to 10, 2025, the “Jianghai Talents” Program for Young Leading Lawyers will be hosted by the Nantong Municipal Lawyers Association and co-organized by the Yancheng Municipal Lawyers Association. The third session of the Talent Training Camp officially commenced at the Zhang Jian Entrepreneurship Academy in Nantong. Ji Jie, Executive Director of JC Master (Nantong) Law Office, attended. I was fortunate to participate in the third session of the “Jianghai Talent Program” Young Lawyers’ Training Camp, hosted by the Nantong Municipal Lawyers Association, joining a cohort of like-minded young attorneys on a shared journey of professional growth. On the camp’s opening day, 60 promising young lawyers gathered at the Zhang Jian Entrepreneurship Academy. Their creative and thoughtful self-introductions gently opened the door to mutual understanding, sketching out initial impressions of one another. The subsequent team-building activities, with their ingeniously designed games, quickly dissolved any sense of unfamiliarity, while the thrill of collective challenges ignited an immediate surge of camaraderie and a strong sense of team pride—laying a solid foundation for the road ahead.

AI Competition: Critical Thinking Forges Elite Soldiers
 

Centered around the forward-looking theme “Jianghai Qinglü: Intelligence-Driven Future,” the Young Lawyers’ Training Camp focuses on leveraging AI technology, thoughtfully designing a diverse array of activities—including a Party‑history knowledge competition, team‑building exercises, an AI‑themed debate, an AI‑driven business‑winning contest, and an arts showcase—to build a comprehensive pathway for the professional growth of young lawyers. From strengthening political awareness and ethical grounding to honing technical expertise; from fostering seamless teamwork to unlocking the potential of innovative thinking, this carefully structured series of programs systematically and precisely propels participants toward the pinnacle of the legal profession.
 

In the highly anticipated AI-themed debate, the pro and con sides took “The benefits of artificial intelligence for the legal profession outweigh its drawbacks” as their topic, launching a clash of intellect and eloquence at the pinnacle of intellectual competition. This was not merely a battle of logic but also a profound reflection on the future trajectory of the legal profession in the age of AI. Meanwhile, the AI‑driven business‑winning contest escalated the competitive atmosphere to a fever pitch. Confronted with an innovative format, we responded with composure. Starting with a meticulous analysis of the competition’s logic, we leveraged our AI expertise to efficiently produce documents within the tight four‑hour time limit, then brought our results onto the field to compete head‑on.
 

Competing lawyers must comprehensively analyze the case, articulate their strategy, and highlight their strengths to the “client”; in turn, the “client” poses incisive questions and conducts rigorous cross-examinations, putting the team’s adaptability to the test on all fronts. This highly realistic competition rigorously challenges our proficiency in AI applications, our depth of legal practice, and our team’s collaborative effectiveness, yielding invaluable simulated experience that will inform our future professional work.
 

In the end, our team clinched first place thanks to our seamless collaboration and solid expertise. This immersive journey of team-based problem-solving gave me profound insights into the symbiotic integration of AI and the legal profession, while also reminding me that, in the age of AI, only by continuously honing ourselves and strengthening our core competencies can we harness AI to become leaders in our field—rather than being swept along by the tide of technological change. At the same time, this competition taught me that, when taking on cases, lawyers must not only possess exceptional professional skills but also master outstanding communication abilities; the two complement each other and are equally indispensable.

The daily rhythm of the youth academy, from the first blush of dawn to the tranquil stillness of night, is brimming with learning, dialogue, and hands-on practice—each moment shaping the contours of our growth. Immersing myself fully in every activity feels like holding a mirror to myself, helping me pinpoint my weaknesses and chart a clear path for advancement.
 

In the realm of teamwork, I have mastered the art of swiftly building consensus amid diverse perspectives and learned how to leverage my unique strengths to empower and enrich the team. In the field of AI technology application, I have become proficient in using a variety of legal‑AI tools, harnessing technological advances to enhance operational efficiency. Confronted with one demanding task after another, I have repeatedly pushed beyond my physical and mental comfort zones, cultivating an inner resilience and confidence that serve as a source of strength.

Looking ahead, I will integrate all that I have learned and reflected upon in the youth training program into every aspect of my daily practice, closely monitoring cutting-edge developments in legal technology and deeply exploring the seamless convergence of AI with real-world business applications. I will actively participate in industry‑wide forums, exchanging experiences and sharing insights with my peers, while boldly shouldering our social responsibilities and diligently safeguarding the profession’s reputation and public image. May we, as young lawyers, seize the promise of our prime years, pursue our dreams with ambition, and embark on a new chapter in the legal profession!
